Laughter, Smiles & Tears – Safford Wedding – 11.10.12

When Cassandra and Joshua hired me for their wedding, I was very excited to be coordinating my first Albuquerque event. They chose the chapel at the famous Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town for their ceremony and Salsa Baby for their reception.

The day of the wedding, I checked in with Cassandra in one of the hotel rooms and she was all smiles, getting her hair done and ready for the day to begin. Joshua made his entrance into the chapel with a cocktail in his hand and a huge smile on his face, he was ready too.

When it was time to get started, we opened the doors to the chapel to reveal a beaming bride and her father. With the reaction Joshua gave, we all knew it was going to be a very special ceremony. There’s something so touching about a groom who isn’t afraid to show his emotions and Joshua was one of those grooms. The whole chapel was in tears as the couple exchanged vows, sealed their love letter/wine box and shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Following the ceremony, guests were encouraged to go explore downtown Albuquerque to grab some dinner and then meet back up at Salsa Baby for the reception. The ambiance was perfect with candles everywhere, white sparkling Christmas lights, fabric hung from the ceilings and the exposed brick walls. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, cupcakes, toasts, music by DJ Dynamixx and lots of dancing, including a breakdancing competition.

Throughout the entire day and night, those smiles never left Joshua and Cassandra’s faces. They were in love, and with all of their laughter, smiles and tears – their wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect.

Congratulations Joshua and Cassandra on your happily ever after!

Arriving at the chapel and clearly excited for the day.

After lots of practice at the rehearsal, this cute little flower girl is ready to go.

Seeing his bride for the first time.

Just married.

The dance studio, Salsa Baby, transformed into a wedding reception.

The couple hung out at Jimmy John’s next door while they waited to be introduced to the room.

Words from our client : Ansley Event Design is a true gem in event business. I could not have finished planning my event with such ease without their assistance. Sarah not only makes you feel like a preferred client, but also a friend. I would recommend AED over any other vendor in New Mexico…Sarah and her team really care and know what they are doing!” ~Cassandra (Bride)
